Through the blessings of all Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and Noble Ones,
May I gain the strength to practice Tonglen—
To take into my heart the pain, hatred, and apathy of beings,
And transform it within the boundless space of bodhicitta.
May I cultivate the patience to see beyond ignorance and cruelty,
And respond always with unwavering mettā and deep karuṇā.
May all my joy, virtue, and merit be freely offered to others.
May the suffering of beings ripen upon me, without resistance or fear.
O compassionate Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and Noble Ones,
Bless me in this Tonglen practice:
To breathe in the suffering of beings,
And breathe out healing, love, and peace.
By this sacred exchange, may the veil of self-clinging dissolve,
And may I become a true servant of beings,
Until all are free from sorrow.
