Parami Practice in Daily Life

  1. Dāna: Give once a day.
  2. Sīla: Hold to precepts at the pain of death. Review one’s precepts at the end of every day.
  3. Nekkhama: Fast every day; sacrifice anything that someone else expresses an interest in.
  4. Pañña: Reflect on the Tilakkhana and Cattari Ariya Saccani.
  5. Viriya: Push yourself to meditate for five more minutes when you’re done.
  6. Khanti: Accept whatever is happening and be willing for it to last the rest of your life.
  7. Saccā: Recite Ratana Sutta.
  8. Adhiṭṭhāna: Uphold vows and commitments no matter what.
  9. Mettā: Practice metta bhavana once a day and anytime you’re walking through crowds.
  10. Upekkhā: Recall that I am the owner of my kamma and all that happens to me is a result of it.
