Namo Kṣitigarbha Bodhisattva
Great Vow King, who does not abandon even one being,
You who remain where suffering is deepest,
You who transform darkness through steadfast compassion—
I turn toward you with a sincere heart.
With your guidance and inspiration, I make this determination:
Wherever I go,
May I plant seeds of kindness, care, and compassion—
Even in the smallest, quietest, and most unexpected ears.
Like you, who enter forgotten places without hesitation,
May I not overlook even the briefest encounter,
Nor dismiss even the faintest opportunity to do good.
In moments that seem ordinary,
In words that pass unnoticed,
May I sow gentle causes
That ripen into peace and understanding.
When I meet harshness, indifference, or casual cruelty,
May I not withdraw, nor harden my heart.
Instead, sustained by your vow, may I remain.
Through loving-kindness, may I soften what is rigid.
Through compassion, may I embrace what is wounded.
Through sympathetic joy, may I nourish what is wholesome.
Through equanimity, may I remain steady and unshaken.
With these alchemical powers of the Brahmavihāras,
May even fleeting moments of harm
Be transformed into a boundless field of merit.
Kṣitigarbha Bodhisattva,
Plant within me your great patience,
Your fearless endurance,
Your unwavering resolve to remain for all beings.
May my thoughts become seeds of liberation,
My words become bridges of care,
My actions become offerings of compassion.
Until even the most forgotten suffering is eased,
May I not turn away.
For the welfare of all beings in every realm,
I make this vow.
