So far, the day has not started well for my daughter. She didn’t want the waffles I made her. She hated the outfit I picked out. She enlisted her mother in an impromptu smear campaign. Things are not going her way.
And, yet, I found myself contemplating these verses from the Maha Mangala Sutta:
To support mother and father, to cherish wife and children, and to be engaged in peaceful occupation — this is the greatest blessing.
May I partake of this great blessing.
