Today is the Lord Buddha’s brithday according to the lineage I practice with and, as seems to be the case with most holidays, I’m having a harder time with it than I would a normal day. I suppose the issue is that I feel compelled to practice “more” and “better” today because of the significance of the day but am not living up to my own expectations. Be concerned, not worried may be the adage but I am at times damn near close to a panic. Why shoot myself with a second arrow? Why not appreciate my practice and the observance?

Don’t feel too bad… I really didn’t observe at all. Still feeling a little odd about my dad passing away Wednesday.
What a long week.
Be well, friend. Practice always, not just “better” once in a while.
